Explore the buzz about bees while observing a hive, see what fruits and veggies are pollinated by bees, and make a life cycle of a bee. Fly into a giant beehive and learn the roles a queen bee, worker bee, or drone bee! Visitors big and small can dress like a beekeeper, practice extracting honey, and use the proper tools to make and sell honey at the farmer’s market. Learn why bees are so important and what we can do to save them!

Join EWU Professor Jenifer Walke and her EWU Biology students as they “Bring the Buzz about Bees!” We will explore the wonders of bees and the amazing products they make like honey and beeswax. In the lab, we will create beeswax candles and taste honey varieties produced from different flower food sources, gaining a newfound appreciation for these sweet gifts from the bees. *While supplies last.
We will also investigate the secret lives of bees, how they pollinate plants, how beekeepers manage hives, and the challenges facing bees today. It’s sure to “bee” an immersive journey into the captivating world of bees that inspires curiosity, appreciation, and a desire to protect these vital pollinators.

Visit Waste Management’s Recycling and Waste Reduction Challenge activity table to find out! Drop by to test your waste reduction IQ with fun trivia questions, spin the 4Rs wheel for prizes, practice a hands-on waste sort, and even assemble life cycle puzzles! This interactive and fun activity table will challenge recyclers of all ages.
Have fun by learning how to rethink, reduce, re-use, recycle and learn more about your local waste system.

Join us in The Lab to color while listening to the Navy Band Northwest. The woodwind quintet provides musical support for official U.S. government ceremonies, a wide variety of public performances, and educational outreach. They perform a variety of styles, from classical to traditional American music, and can entertain audiences of all ages. Members of this ensemble are Musician Second Class Joel Weszka on clarinet, Musician Third Class Jacob Lieberstein on oboe/English horn, Musician Third Class Hannah Thorp on clarinet, Musician Third Class Dean Brady on flute, and Musician Third Class Erik Malmer on bassoon.
