ICCU will be joining Mobius in The Lab! Explore educational resources and information for all ages, because it’s never too early, or too late, to dive into financial literacy.

Don’t worry, in addition to helpful financial education materials, ICCU will have a fun, hands-on activities and giveaways for kids! Be sure to check out their exciting Money Machine, which is connected to a special Youth Savings promotion, designed to give kids a headstart. Parents can learn more about the program and ask questions while visiting their booth.

Why do cow eyes glow at night? How similar are cow eyes to ours? Explore these questions and more while dissecting a real cow eyeball! Students will work in pairs to dissect and identify the anatomy of a cow’s eye with assistance from instructors.

What is matter and how do scientists categorize it? Students will learn about the states of matter by testing the properties of solids, liquids, and gases. Then students will try experiments that change matter from one state to another.

Students will have the opportunity to learn about the salmon’s cultural significance to the Spokane Tribe, the beginning stages of the Salmon Life Cycle, and participate in a hands-on learning activity. During this class, Spokane Tribe’s Anadromous Program Outreach and Education Specialist, Megan Warren, will teach the students about the Spokane Tribe Anadromous Program and their mission for to bring salmon back into the Spokane Tribe’s waters.

Financial literacy starts young! This interactive class is designed to help students build a strong foundation of money knowledge and develop healthy financial habits that can last a lifetime.

Homeschool students will enjoy reading The Berenstain Bears Visit the Credit Union while learning how credit unions and other financial institutions help people save, spend, and manage their money. They’ll discover who works at a financial institution, what happens during a visit, and how different coins and bills add up.

In addition to the story, students will participate in a group discussion and hands-on activity that explores the importance of saving money. Together, we’ll learn why saving is a valuable habit, how it can help us reach future goals, and the role it plays in making smart decisions.

Join Marnie Miller-Keas from the WA Dept. of Ecology to learn all about watersheds! Homeschool students will participate in a watershed model demonstration on nonpoint source pollution, talk about solutions to the pollution, and create their own miniature crumpled paper watersheds to take home.
